Use your boiler
to produce domestic hot water
Domestic Hot Water
There are several other ways of taking advantage
of your oil fired forced hot water heating
system in addition to heating your home. One
application is to heat your domestic hot water
with your system.
Kill 2 Birds With 1 Stone
In the winter, while you’re boiler is running to
heat you’re house, it’s also producing FREE hot
water. Very Smart! Sure, in the summer the
boiler will run, but it’s still cheaper and more
efficient than alternative methods. It’s also
better for the boiler to run year round than to
shut it down for the season.
The Tankless Hot Water Heater (Least Efficient)
This is a coil inside the boiler which your cold
water is tied into. The cold water then travels
through the coil which is heated by the boiler
water and comes out as hot water to your faucet.
The Indirect Hot Water Heater (Most Efficient)
This method offer more volume where larger
demands of hot water are required. It works the
opposite of the tankless system. This system
feeds cold water into a hot water tank of
various sizes. A coil runs inside the “Hot Water
Tank” through which hot boiler water is pumped.
The Indirect Hot Water Tank is installed as if
it were a separate zone of heat. Our goal is to
custom design a system to meet your needs and
that will bring you maximum comfort for years
and a minimum amount of disruption should any
future work be required. In New England, the
Department of Weather research shows
statistically that there are an average of 300
days a years that our homes require heat. We
need to heat our homes and we need to give very
serious thought to the quality and efficiency of
the heating system we choose to install.
